How do pack ripping sites make money?
They price packs above the average value of what's inside, buy back pulls below market value, and charge fees on marketplaces, shipping and withdrawals.
The core margin is the gap between pack price and expected value. On top of that, buybacks quoted at 70–95% of value let the platform reacquire cards cheaply and resell them in new packs, which is why buyback inventory recycles quickly.
Other revenue lines vary: marketplace seller fees (Courtyard advertises zero), redemption shipping, withdrawal fees, crypto spreads on onchain sites and premium memberships that raise buyback rates.
